Al-Fatihah for Mak Mah

 

I had guests today so when my phone beeped the sms notification, I didn’t pay much attention to it. It was only an hour later that  I realised it was from my aunt in Singapore saying that she and my mom was at my Mak Mah’s place. Mak Mah (my mom’s elder sister) had passed away.

I was in shock and immediately called my aunt. I spoke to my mom who sounded like she had been crying. Mak Mah had passed away this afternoon and she will buried tomorrow at 8am. I so wished I could be there but the timing just does not permit.

All I could do is recite lots of prayers for my late Mak Mah and pray that she is at rest.

Just Imagine

One of the things that I would do if we have a patio (aside from having fantastic outdoor patio flooring) is to install either a big swing or a huge hammock like the picture below. I can just imagine sitting in it with my kitties all sprawl next to me while we enjoy the nice breeze and awesome view.. Sigh…

Universal Studio Singapore .. Here I Come!

Kim Can Sing?

 

I was watching “Kourtney and Kim Takes New York” yesterday and it is an episode where Kim was offered to sing for “The Dream”. She was really nervous before the recording started and even more nervous as she sat in front of the microphone that she nearly gave up. Her sister persuaded her to continue with the project and she later managed to “sing” her lines. She came back a few days later after “The Dream” had completed the song and it was not bad actually. I wonder if “The Dream” had used melodyne guitar center equipment to mix the song to make it sound so..

Oh well.. will you be buying the single? lol!

Today, Singapore celebrated its 47th birthday. I was not there to watch the National Day Parade (which happens to be awesome each time) or enjoy any of the day’s celebration but I am still a Singaporean at heart through and through!

Asus PadFone - It's A Phone, Tablet and Netbook

 

I was going my facebook timeline when I saw an offer for a phone call ASUS PadFone. As I love new gadgets I thought I’d give it check.

I’ve yet to check out this phone in detail as there are so many reviews out there but from what I can see this phone can be “docked” into its PadFone station and instantly it converted into a tablet.. then if you buy their keyboard accessory, it is instantly turned into a netbook! How awesome is it right? Three gadgets in one! I am loving the idea.

In case you are interested Ipmart is selling it at RM2,209.73.

I so love love love this phone.. lol!

Out of the Way

I’m still having my bad tummy ache from yesterday. I suspect it was the soya bean drink that I had for breaking fast the day before.  The running to the toilet started yesterday as early as 2pm but since I was fasting and probbly coz there was nothing in the tummy to fuel it, it went on standby mode. The moment I break fast with just dates and four pieces of dimsum, the whole “get out of the way” on my run to the toilet started.

Anyway, I was planning to check out some life insurance without medical exam policy but instead I could very well be looking at medical policy instead.. lol!

Spa Day @ Sonia Beauty Kota Damansara

Firstly I would like to thank you blogging buddy Emila. If not for her I would not have bought this package seeing how far away the beauty center is.

Anyway.. after a very satisfying spa day at Arowana Beauty Spa on 4th July, I was sort of addicted to spa-ing and after talking to Emila who said that she doesn’t mind going for the same kind of thing again, I set out to look for other offers. I found one at Sonia Beauty in Kota Damansara. That seems miles away but since Emila is family with the area, we decided to give it a go on 17th July.

The package cost us RM29.90 from Mydeal.com and it consisted of :

• Intensive Eye Treatment
  • It was intensive indeed. My eyes were massage, masked and guasa (I think that is the right spelling) . Even my eyebrows was attended too!

• Ultrasonic Facial
  • This was basically a basic facial

• Upper body massage
  • I enjoyed this tremendously. The lady that attended to me was very small and petite and she climbed on on of my back and did some swaying motion on my bums.. I loved it!

• RM100 treatment voucher
  • If the place was closer to home, I would have definitely made use of this one for another round of massage!

 

All in all, another worthwhile rainy afternoon.

Missing Days

Whenever I look at lapel pins, it always remind me of my junior college days. I remember that I had one that that served as a school badge, one for being a school librarian, one for being on the Malay society and another one I can’t remember for what. Those were the carefree days. The days when I only had to worry about getting good grades in school.. Ahh.. miss those days!

I Want a Home in Bali

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? With so many beautiful places in the world, we are definitely spoiled for choice.

I’ve never lived anywhere else apart from Singapore and Malaysia and to tell you honestly I think I would miss it too much to really move anywhere.

When I moved from Singapore to Malaysia, it wasn’t really a big deal as although most things are different, the sense of familiarity is still there. The language is the same (albeit a little different slang wise), the food is the same and well Singapore is only a few hours away. That being said, I wouldn’t mind owning overseas property perhaps in Paris (always fancy living there.. don’t ask me why coz the answer would just be .. because.. lol) or somewhere closer to home would be in Bali. I mean how awesome would it be to be able to live in your very own home while enjoying what that city or country have to offer. A home away from home.. .. that sounds so awesome!

Anyway.. yeah I wouldn’t mind owning a property in Bali.. I love Bali. I love the beaches, I love the people and their culture and most of all I love all that shopping! lol!

Oh quick shoutout to my beloved Azwaj.. Happy birthday my love!!! Love Love Love you!!
