Site Intermittently Down

The company that I’m hosting with, blue host, just had a server upgrade and because of that my sites are just not stable now. It might be up one minute and down the next. I hope that is a temporary thing as sites giving errors are not very SEO and visitors friendly.

I would hate to have to move hosting for sure as it is time consuming and I just don’t have the time to fiddle with my own blogs these days. .. but if need be.. well..

That being said, please forgive the occasional errors that you might receive these few days when you visit my site. Thanks!

Mobile Blogging Via HTC Desire HD

I am so engrossed with my new phone right now that I am neglecting most of my online and offline work especially since I seriously need to learn more about how tea tea oil works so I can clear my face of the acne spots that I got from my previous acne attack . I feel so guilty but I cant seem to be able to stop. Lol!

I am testing most of the apps over at the Android marketplace. Some are fantastic and awesome but there are some that are just a waste of time. But I dont mind coz I’m having fun fun fun.

One of the apps that I found was for WordPress publishing and I am testing it right now. You guessed it. I am blogging from my phone that I call LadyDesire. I hope this works as it would be so cool to able to do real post even when I’m on the road.

So here goes… and… publishing!

Page Rank (PR) Are Here Again

Bring out the mocktails and the cao cigars, we’re here to celebrate the latest PR rounds. I have 10 blogs to my name and although not all of them are as up-to-date as I like them to be, I try my best to update them as much as possible. So I was pleasantly surprise to see how some of them have improved in terms of page rank and even more pleased that ever since I switched url for my main blog over at LadyJava’s Lounge, it has now a modest Page Rank of PR2. Yeay!

Work Anywhere

Each time I go back to Singapore it is primarily to visit mom and do stuff with her. There is hardly any time for me to do anything else. It’s not that I don’t want to stay longer but I got a life and responsibilities here that simply don’t let me stay longer than a week when I’m back there. I may not have a super duper career like an offshore injury lawyer or anything but my work is important to me and the condition in my Singapore home is simply not conducive enough for me to do it all. One day perhaps I can just leave my laptop when I go back to Singapore but in the meantime I am just glad that “my work” can be done anywhere I have internet access 🙂

Missing My Unifi

It’s coming to 4am now and I’m still wide awake. I should be sleeping though as I need to wake up early tomorrow. The Unifi men are coming to see what’s wrong with our Unifi router that didn’t work suddenly yesterday causing me and A grief because we had to revert to our P1 connection of only 2.4mbps. We didn’t mind before as we had not experienced the super speed of Unifi but once we are hooked, waiting for sites to load on P1 seems unbearable now.

So I am going to finish reading up on hgh creams and then force myself to sleep so I won’t miss that all important visit tomorrow. I hope they bring a replacement router just in case. MIss my Unifi 🙁

Blogger Gathering 2010 @HRC KL

The night was perfect for a bike ride so me and Azwaj decided to just take the motorbike to the Blogger Gathering at Hard Rock Cafe. Upon arrival, A spotted the motorcycle bay and though it stated there  it was for big bikes only (they should use a scanner software and put up a picture and and show us how big is big), he decided to give it a try and park there… after all we were going to be paying customers. As we were talking to Bem and Soulie, who we met upon arrival, someone from HRC asked A to move his bike as “small” bikes were not allowed there…lol! oh well, luckily the parking for bikes was not that far away.

We had lots of fun yesterday and here are just some of the pictures from the evening.. More pictures to come for sure..and the food images would naturally go to my food blog so look out for those too..;)

We have Unifi!

unifi technicians hard at work

I love it when scheduled jobs go as planned.

The day started bright and early for us today. Yeap, as early as 6am. We showered and by 7am, we were ready to leave the apartment to go to mama’s grave. As expected, we met Abah there. He still goes to visit late-mama EVERY morning since April 8th! After breakfast, we went to Abah’s house for a bit and and rushed back to tidy up the apartment in time for the people from Unifi to come.. and they came on time (well done)!

The installation went smoothly lasting only about 2hours. The technicians tested that all connection was working fine and explained how the iptv works. We are now in awe as how fast pages are loading and Azwaj’s download of 350mb only took 5minutes!

We are now currently on the VIP10 package as we still have one more year to go with P1 package.. but if Unifi perform well, we may very well upgrade to VIP20 and experience 20mbps instead! Do you have Unifi? How do you like it?

Flash Drive or SD Card?

Remember when flash drive used to only have 128mb capacity but cost like a bomb? Well nowadays, you can even put in an operating system in them if you wanted to! … and the pricing.. OMG it is so ridiculously cheap that sometimes it seems almost sinful to not own one! lol!

Having said that I’m torned between buying a new flash drive or SD memory card instead. Hmm.. what do you think?

Clenched Tummy

I just went through three hours of torture when I upgraded my main blog LadyJava’s Lounge to WordPress 3.0. If a clenched tummy can cause stomach fat loss, I would have a very flat tummy now… lol! Fortunately though, I was calm enough and I managed to solve the problem by going through the wordpress forum and since I was not the only one having problems upgrading, there were plenty of solutions to try.  I’ll write about it more on my next post at LJL ok.

We've Moved to Wordpress

I finally did it. I finally moved this blog to wordpress too which makes the transition complete for all my self hosted domain. I feel so complete now.. lol!.

The only two blogs that is left on Blogger is my make money and food blog which I am leaving on blogspot for personal reasons. But.. phew.. I wish moving my blogs were that as easy as getting free life insurance quote online. The transition wasn’t without flaws. Although I managed to move all blog posts, some comments over at my main blog, LadyJava’s Lounge, went missing for older entries. I really feel bad for that but I will try to find another way to import those as well..

Well, I finally made it to the post office today and was greeted by a very big box.

Running Late

I seriously got to go the post office tomorrow. I got this notice from Pos Laju that I got a package and the notice actually arrived last week just before the Chinese New Year holidays. I’m suspecting that it is custom mugs that I won at a contest recently but I can’t be sure because I’m also expecting something from my bank in Singapore. So hopefully I can wake up like a normal person later today and reach the post office before they close at 4.30pm 🙂

Twitter Me

A friend of ours came over tonight and the first thing he asked me was how’s my back pain. I was quite curious as to how he found out about my back pain and he said it’s probably because I twittered about a few days back and it appeared in his Yahoo Messenger.

Now I was really curious as I have not opened my yahoo mail or my yahoo messenger for some time now. In fact I got to reactivate my yahoo mail recently since it was deactivated after four months of inactivity.

I do submit my blogs to web directory but I only sync my twitter to facebook and jskit so how did it end up in his YM? I really wanted to ask him to show me but then he and A was going out already so I guess I got to wait another day for my answers.. Oh well!!
