In today's world, honesty seems to be a rare trait. People often choose to hide the truth, manipulate it or even lie to gain an advantage over others. However, being honest is not only a moral value, but it is also important for our personal growth and well-being.

Firstly, being honest helps build trust in relationships. Whether it's personal or professional, honesty is the foundation of a healthy relationship. When we are honest, we show that we respect and value the other person enough to be truthful with them. This helps to create a bond of trust, which is essential for any relationship to flourish.

Secondly, honesty helps to maintain our own self-respect. When we lie or deceive others, we often feel guilty and ashamed. This can lead to a lack of self-esteem and a negative self-image. On the other hand, when we are honest, we feel good about ourselves, and this contributes to our overall well-being.

Thirdly, honesty helps us to learn from our mistakes. When we are truthful about our actions and their consequences, we can take responsibility for them and learn from them. This enables us to grow and develop as individuals, improving our character and making us better equipped to deal with life's challenges.

Lastly, honesty contributes to a more just and fair society. When people are truthful, there is less chance of injustice and corruption. Honesty helps to build a culture of accountability and responsibility, where everyone is held to the same standard of truthfulness.

In conclusion, being honest is a crucial value for our personal and social development. It helps build trust, maintain self-respect, learn from mistakes and contributes to a just society. Therefore, we should strive to be honest in all our dealings, even if it may be difficult at times. Ultimately, the benefits of honesty far outweigh any short-term advantages of dishonesty.

Not everyone can have a holiday, Sadly, factors such as when, where and who must be considered carefully especially since you do not want to waste your hard earned money on a frivolous trip. Costa Rica luxury vacations is highly recommended to those who wish to splurge on a once in a lifetime experience. Of course, there are a few tricks of the trade you ought to know if you want your money and time to be worth it. On that note, here are a few “hacks” you have to remember for your trip.

Don’t change your money at the airport

When it comes to money, the United States Dollar is accepted in most establishments across Costa Rica; however, not everyone wants to use their dollars when out and about as for some. Plan out your expenses and have your money exchanged anywhere but the airport. Contrary to what some may say, the airport actually has some of the lower in the country. Same with your hotel; even if your front desk can change your money to Costa Rican colons, don’t since they also have low rates. Instead, opt for a major bank to have your money changed.

Get some Costa Rican coffee

One of the best scents to wake up to is the fragrant scent of coffee. It’s one of the world’s most consumed drinks and many consider it to be an essential to their daily life. In Costa Rica, you’re assured that what’s in your cup is some of the best Arabica grounds on the planet. Arabica coffee has a softer, sweeter taste and higher acidity compared to Robusta.  Thanks to a law passed in 1989, it is literally illegal for Costa Rican farmers to produce bad coffee. So, when in Costa Rica, drink coffee and purchase some as souvenirs; after all, it’s not every day that you’ll get to bring home superior coffee.

Reserve a car in advance

If you’re not exactly keen on public transportation and prefer to have control over your own schedule and destinations, then perhaps you might be the type of traveler who rents vehicles for their own use during their stay in Costa Rica. It’s highly advisable not to let a vehicle on the spot at the airport. This is due to the fact that car rental companies at the airport can add a rather hefty charge of up to 12% to their rates as compared to outside companies. Contact rental companies in the city or town before leaving for Costa Rica and reserve your vehicle. This will not only save you money, but it will also save you the unwanted stress of not having the vehicle you wanted to rent.

Eat local

Did you know that some of the best food in Costa Rica can be found not inside a big restaurant, but in small, local eateries called Sodas? They may not look much from the outside, but it’s what’s they are serving that matters. Sodas are usually open spaced and serve the most delicious local fare. Try the Casado, which is rice, meat, fried plantains or cassava, beans and salad, or Ollade Carne, which is a beef and vegetable stew with sweet potato, plantains, taro root and corn. As for dessert, try the Arroz con Leche, which is a rice pudding made with milk, cinnamon, and sugar.

B.Y.O. A. (Bring Your Own Alcohol)

If you and your companions plan to do any drinking while in Costa Rica, then you better bring your own liquor. Unlike other countries that allow probably a maximum of two liters, you can bring in up to five liters in your check- in baggage. This is especially useful since not all alcohol is affordable in Costa Rica, such as rum which might turn out to be cheaper in your country.

Be prepared to spend

Costa Rica most certainly lives up to the meaning of its name which is “Rich Coast’ since some things here can be more expensive than the United States. In fact, it’s the most expensive country in Central America When it comes to water, just bring a reusable bottle since the tap water in Costa Rica is potable. Expect transportation to be on the upper scale since gasoline is quite expensive here. Clothing is also more expensive in Costa Rica, so do try not to forget any necessary clothing at home.

Bring binoculars

Costa Rica is known for its insanely amazing flora and fauna; it’s no wonder why biologists and wildlife experts flock the country! With that in mind, you must know your limits and know when to and when not to approach an interesting specimen of an animal or insect. For example, keep your distance when it comes to feral cats like jaguars or pumas. This is where a pair of binoculars comes in. With it in hand, you can admire the wildlife from a distance without the need to force your eyes to spot it. Alongside a pair of binoculars should be a basic wildlife manual on the fauna of Costa Rica to help you name what you just saw.

When on vacation visiting a tropical spot, find every way you can to truly enjoy the experience. After all, you don’t exactly get to wake up near the beach on a daily basis. So what are you waiting for? Grab your phone and call your friends or family; it’s time to plan an epic vacation for the books.

It was a nice Thursday morning. Nice weather, no sign of rain and everything was going as planned. Azwaj and I had a light breakfast and around 8.15am, we left our house to run some errands. Traffic was good, the sun wasn’t out yet so it was a nice cool ride. Perfect, everything was perfect until, we turned the corner at Bulatan Kampung Pandan.. then WHAM!

oil slick

Some oil slick was on the road at the corner and before we knew it we were on the ground, “gliding” with the motorbike on the hard road for several seconds. When the motorbike finally stopped, the first thing I said was “What happened?!” I was in shock and I can’t even remember if I screamed when we fell (A said I didn’t). The next thing I knew A was on his feet, there were a two other riders that stopped and helped pick up the bike. I couldn’t get up. There was pain on my knee but as my jeans were not ripped, I didn’t know what the wound actually looked like. All I knew was my knee hurt and I could not move my leg although it wasn’t squashed by the motorbike. It was only after A helped remove my leg then only I was able to move and limped slowly to the side of the road.

It seems when we were going down and “gliding”, Azwaj had, with his utmost strength, held on to the bike so that the bike would not fall on our legs when it eventually stopped. In the process.. well.. lets let the pictures do the talking..

My injury was still unknown at this point because it was covered by my jeans but we could see bleeding so we know there was a wound there only we don’t know to what extent.

Once we were home…

Well, the day didn’t go as planned but we are still thankful. Thankful that there was no vehicle behind us when we fell. Thankful that the other rider didn’t fall alongside us causing more injury. Thankful that although we were badly bruised and wounded, we didn’t break or sprained anything. Thankful we are experiencing all this pain which means all our body is functional and last but definitely not least.. thankful we are still alive.

We are hurting and the painkiller is our new best friend for now but the healing process is progressing nicely.

Keep us in your prayers ya… Amen

A weekend away with friends in a world-renowned location can be a great experience and this doesn’t have to be just a summer vacation idea. In fact, among the best places for an action packed adventure like this is the popular ski resort of Chamonix.

Nestled high in the French Alps, Chamonix is the sort of place where you can have a weekend filled with fun and laughter for all the right reasons. Having an enjoyable weekend here is something that you can do very easily.

Leave Your Cares Behind for a Couple of Days

Ideally, the weekend is the time when you can recharge your batteries and forget all about your cares and concerns for a couple of days. This can be difficult to do at home but it comes naturally when you are in a very special place like Chamonix.

From the first moment that you set your eyes on the snowy slopes and the massive Mont Blanc you will begin to relax. It is almost impossible to feel stressed and worried when you are surrounded by such outstanding natural beauty.

The physical act of skiing is also wonderful for making you live the moment and forget about everything else. You will simply love gliding down the snow and feeling truly alive with your friends by your side.

Skiing is tiring and it is a brilliant feeling to come off the slopes at the end of the day exhausted but full of life.

By doing this you can go all home afterwards feeling wonderfully refreshed. You will feel ready to take on new challenges and get back to normal life with more energy than ever before.

Stay in Amazing Accommodation

Weekend ski trips are also incredible fun because they give you and your friends the chance to stay in fantastic accommodation. This is a chance to stay somewhere great in a location that you won’t forget in a hurry.

One classic option is to spend the weekend in a comfortable ski chalet. These places offer the chance to enjoy some true Alpine luxury and comfort in a great setting.

The chance to eat together in the chalet is another advantage to staying in this type of accommodation in Chamonix. This is an opportunity to enjoy French Alpine cuisine and spend some quality moments together as a group.

Another option is to choose to stay in a hotel in Chamonix. There are a number of terrific hotels to choose from here and many give you exciting facilities such as pools, hot tubs and quality restaurants.

Enjoy the Food and Drink

Eating and drinking with your group is one of the great pleasures of life when on short ski breaks with friends. This gets even better when you do it in a picturesque setting and with a relaxed frame of mind in such a welcoming spot.

The massive popularity of Chamonix means that it is packed with lots of brilliant bars, clubs and restaurants. Finding somewhere to have a great time together is going to be easy when you are here.

In terms of places to eat, some of the best options in town are to be found at the likes of L’impossible, Le Bistrot and Alpage de Balme. The range of eateries runs from modest little restaurants to incredible lavish places with expensive menus.

You also want be short of somewhere to sit down for a few drinks and some laughs. The après ski scene in Chamonix is thrilling and offers a lot of variety for party lovers.

Among the favourites here that never lose their appeal are the Monkey Bar, Les Marmottons and Elevation 1904. Whether you want live music, big screen sports or a chilled atmosphere, there is something here to suit you perfectly.

The time that you pass eating and drinking together is certainly likely to be among the highlights of the entire trip. Be sure to take the time to explore a few different spots in and around the town in order to sample the atmosphere in each of them.

The Skiing Experience

Of course, the skiing is likely to be the main element of your trip here, even if it is far from being the only fun thing that you do. The good news in this respect is that Chamoinx is an amazing place to go whizzing down the slopes with a bunch of friends.

The size and variety of the skiing area here means that there is somewhere that is right for everyone. Newcomers to skiing can get started easily here, while more experienced skiers can have the time of their lives and really challenge their skills.

If you love skiing then you could easily spend all day out on the slopes. If you aren’t quite as wildly keen on the sport then this is simply another part of the trip to enjoy while you are here.

Just getting out on the ski lifts and soaking up the magnificent views here is a pleasure in its own right, regardless of how much skiing you do while you are here. However, if you want to truly test your skiing ability and enjoy the pistes then there are few better places on the planet to do it.

Other Fun Things to Do

It would be a mistake to think that a weekend trip to Chamonix with friends is only about the things that we have already looked at. As much fun as all of that sounds, there are other enticing activities here to keep you busy.

Among the things that you can do here are exciting adventures such as scaling Mont Blanc, ice climbing, dog sledding and snowshoeing.

If you want something a bit more laid back then a trip to the popular Parc d’Attractions guarantees a good time. The truth is that you will never be short of fun things to do while you are here.

It Is So Easy to Do

While all of that might sound fantastic in theory, you could be wondering just now how difficult it is to make a trip to Chamonix. After all, you don’t want your long-awaited weekend to just slip away from you due to long flights and never-ending airport transfers.

Thankfully, getting to beautiful Chamonix is a lot easier than many people imagine it will be. For instance, if you are travelling from the UK then it is just a short flight and airport transfer to the resort.

In this way, you will be settled into the local bar or restaurant a few hours after setting out, and ready to make the most of this ski break. This is an important point because it means that the whole group should feel refreshed and full of energy right from the start.

The fact that the trip can be booked easily online also means that it is easy to sort out a group trip even if you all have different commitments at home. You don’t want the possibility of a tremendous trip like this to slip through your fingers, do you?

If you want to enjoy the trip of a lifetime with some special people then Chamonix is an ideal destination. Give it a try and you will see how it can give even the strongest friendship an extra boost.

The weirdest thing happened to me on my trip back to Singapore this time. While at Singapore Tuas checkpoint, all of us thought we were waiting for some chap who was having problems with immigration. However after about half hour of no aircon and no sight of the driver doing headcount, some of the male passengers went downstairs to the driver seat to find him fast asleep!!!! Like OMG right???

When it comes to vacation, you may often experience more stress than relaxation. From planning and logistics to making sure that everything goes off without a hitch, you often need a vacation from your vacation to catch up on your rest. Instead of planning a whirlwind, activity-packed vacation this year, plan a vacation around relaxation. This way, when you return to the hustle and bustle of the real world, you will be relaxed, energized, and ready to conquer your workload instead. Whether you are planning a vacation for yourself, your family, or a group of friends, there are ways to cut down on stress and have a more enjoyable time. Read on for two ways to rejuvenate rather than run yourself ragged for your next summer vacation.

Have a Tranquil Weekend in the Woods
Rather than planning out activities for your upcoming vacation, another great option is to take some time out in the great outdoors. Consider going camping or renting a cabin in the woods for a little peace and tranquility. You can enjoy quiet time cooking over an open fire, going on hikes, fishing, and looking at the stars. Southeastern Oklahoma is known for its outstanding outdoor vacation spots. Beavers Bend Log Cabins offers furnished broken bow cabins in Beavers Bend State Park. No matter where you go, you will be sure to enjoy a great escape from city life.

Plan a Staycation
Whether you are on a budget or don’t have a ton of time to travel for vacation, a “staycation” is a great way to reap the benefits of time off from work without going far. Begin your staycation planning by thinking of some things in your city or nearby that you have not done before or that you would like to do again and plan your “trip” around this. You can rent a hotel room or house in your hometown to really feel like you have gotten away as well. You can also opt for a spa day or weekend. Be creative and know that you don’t have to go far for a relaxing vacation.

Azwaj got a few guitars in his collection but I don’t think he has one from the joe signature guitar series. I don’t think I’d be able to afford one to buy him as a gift any time soon but I reckon it’s the thought that always count right?

Anyhow.. I miss blogging here.. I should start blogging more for sure. It’s not for lack of materials but I guess I just need to be a little bit more discipline eh… Sigh

Being a wife to a guitar player, I am always discovering new and awesome guitars and one of them has to be the folding guitar. I mean look at how compact it can be once you fold away the neck. It most definitely be easier to carry out. I actually asked Azwaj if it would sound just as good as the normal guitar and he says “of course”. If you want to check out this cute lil thing.. you can head on over to Musician friend. Too bad they don’t deliver to Malaysia.

If you have recently become the owner of your very own new restaurant, you have already accomplished a great deal more than most of your peers will ever be able to boast about. But it isn’t time just yet to sit back on your laurels and wait for the proceeds to start rolling in. Before you can open up your doors to the public, you will need to make sure that all of the necessary supplies and fixtures are in place.

When Shopping For Your Business, It Pays To Be As Specific As Possible

For example, if you are searching for a new refrigerator, you ought to be aware that it will not do you any good whatsoever to simply drive down to your local Walmart and buy the first model that seems priced for your budget. You ought to understand that there is a specific type (actually, more than one) of refrigerator used in restaurants, and that you will need to be equally specific when it comes to purchasing the model that is right for your new restaurant. Otherwise, you’re simply wasting your time and your money.

Where Can You Find All Of The Restaurant Supplies That You Need?

When it comes to finding all of the various essential supplies that you will need in order to successfully open your new restaurant, there is really only one place that has all of the necessary qualifications to be fit the bill. That place is the Internet. Since its debut over two decades ago, the world wide web has become the world’s leading vendor of goods and services, and for good reason. Why makes things more complex than they need to be? Instead of having to drive over a hundred miles to find some obscure part, you can order it straight off the web and have it come to you.

Shopping Over The Internet Is The Best Way To Save Time And Money

Shopping over the Internet is simply the very best to save time and money. After all, you’re in this business to make a profit, so it behooves you to find the very best possible deal for the very best possible price. Using the Internet to order all of your essential goods and services is the easiest, most convenient, and cost effective way in which to proceed.

There is something special about being out on or in the water. There are a number of great ways to enjoy the water for people of all ages. Great options to consider makes a river, lake or ocean experience quite enjoyable.

A Boating Excursion
Getting out in a boat on the water can be thrilling. Children and adults may bring some fishing equipment along and can fish for a wide variety of creatures. After all, fishing is a wonderful way for people to relax and get rid of stress. Some enjoy the excitement of getting a fighting fish on the line. Others like the peace and tranquility of continuous casting. People are welcome to go water skiing or have a fun ride on an inner tube as a boat pulls them along. A personal watercraft can make time go extremely fast as an individual or couple enjoys the water. A sunset can look quite fantastic when it is experienced on the water. When all the fun is done for the day, there are plenty of ways that a boat can be stored, such as Lunmar boat lifts. The result is that boat owners can have peace of mind when the experience is complete.

Swim Time
While being on the water is awesome, another way to experience the water is to be in it. It is great to cool off in the water when the day is hot and humid. Others love the water when it is warm like bath water. Children love to play in the water as they experience gentle waves rolling over them. Beach balls, flotation devices and other marvelous toys can make an outing even better. The passing hours can seem just like a few moments that have passed by as a result of the fun that is being experienced. When the waves get stronger, adults have enjoyment bobbing and riding the surf. A surf board, boogie board and other similar devices can provide a nice challenge to those who like to be on and in the water.

Whether people decide to be on or in the water, bringing a great meal along can certainly enhance the event. Other people prefer to eat out afterwards at a restaurant in order to receive protein and other necessary nourishment. Although temperatures can change how warm or cool water feels, people can still have a wonderful experience.

For the ladies who have no idea on the types of eye make up to pull off, there are three eye make up for women to implement in their routine.

  1. Cat Eyes

Do you remember Amy Winehouse who put an extravagant cat eye makeup as her signature look? The look gained attention of many women around the world. Everyone created their own cat eye look which helps enhances their eyes making it appear bigger. Asian girls would love the cat eye makeup but it is advisable to attempt a more simple touch to it. Apply a slight tint and a corner ending for a polished appearance.

  1. Sexy Smokey Eyes

You do not necessarily have to pull off that dark mysterious look like Avril Lavigne or Taylor Momsen. Use a simple neutral earth tone shade on your eyelid which is one shade lighter than your skin. Apply a brownish colour of eyeshadow in the crease and the lower half of your bottom lid. After that, top up the look with a dab of black, grey or dark brown to create depth. To finish the eye makeup look, apply a slight tint of black eyeliner and you will achieve that elegant sexy smokey eye. The best part is smokey eyes can be pulled off by women of any skin tone due to its versatile colour element.

  1. Go Neutral

It is a great way for ladies who are always out and about to apply the natural eye makeup look. This is because it makes you expose that natural beauty without putting much effort and energy into it. With only a dab of light blush such as pink, coral or brown matte depending on your skin tone, it can definitely make you look fresh. Curl your eyelashes, apply mascara and you are set to go.

Azwaj had a jamming session last night with a friend and it was awesome. He was with his yamaha guitar and his friend was playing bass. He had his amplifier out and everything . One thing missing was a singer.

I was working in the home office but it sure feels like I was at some pub listening so some live music. I was also munching on some chips and was having my very own three layer tea. Super awesome!

While mommy was here in KL in January, she made a BIG decision. And by BIG I mean HUGE! She decided to move to KL (gasp!). It wasn’t planned or discussed. It just happened and before I knew it, I was back in Singapore, planning to meet housing agents, movers and renovation contractors to rent the unit, move mom’s stuff to KL and renovate the bedroom floor that had somewhat warp, in that order. We decided on the move date and I went home to KL. It was so surreal until March. That’s when the move happened.

Well, the move from Singapore went smoothly. It was back breaking packing (I hate packing) and the bedroom is now looking awesome and even as I’m writing it, the new family occupying our home there is enjoying their time there. Mom’s stuff from Singapore is arriving this week to KL and then the unpacking happens.. (OMG!)

Anyway, both me and Azwaj are very excited and thrilled that Mommy is here to stay. For now she needs to go back to SG monthly to get her visa stamped but we will definitely be working on that so she does not have to that that in the future. I guess the transition time is good so she does not have any culture shock. She told me that she feels like she is on holiday now instead of going through a permanent move which I guess is a good thing so she won’t feel too overwhelmed.

My mommy is with me again so YEAY.. time to celebrate!

Sad to say, since my first mani/pedi session in 2013, I have not gone for another one since then. It’s not because I didn’t want to but because there were so many other offers that more enticing than just a session to do my nails that I could probably do myself with the proper pedicure tools.

Yes I am a Groupon kinda girl and I take pride in getting some awesome offers in the process and yes if I get one mani/pedi offer that is simply too hard to miss, I’d probably take it up and give some TLC to my nails but for now, some DIY session at home will have to do!
