saving-moneySpeaking of money, expenditure and savings, my home budget is seriously in need of a revision. It’s not because I’m spending like a mad woman in need of retail therapy,  but rather because everything has gotten so much more expensive these days. I mean looking at my budget worksheet right now, it’s more suited for last year’s prices than this year. At this rate, me and Azwaj got to work extra hard this year to live like last year. Petrol has increased, groceries prices have gone up, pet food prices have increased, even toilet paper has gone up 20%!

I am wondering at this point if I need to up my own blog makeover prices.  One thing is for sure, we need to be extra frugal. Perhaps we should start eating more at  home and less outside dining? Perhaps we need to use less expensive litter for the kitties (though that would mean the house might stink a bit more). I’m even considering letting go of our cable tv simply because I don’t watch tv that often anyway.

Whatever it is, I need to find more personal finance tips that might suggest some ideas on how to save money especially for those rainy days. You never know when you might get sick and need more money for that 🙁

I am always on the lookout for great deals and any savings I can get in any form gets me super excited. Like recently I found out that I could save almost RM15 on cat food if I were to get it from the local SPCA nearby our home.. and I not only save money, I also get to help the organisation as all purchases are considered as donation. The only inconvenience is that I got to call the place first before going there as its office opening hours are not regular. I reckon I just need to discipline myself to not wait till the last minute before calling them.

savingsNowadays, everything is so expensive that sometimes I can’t help but shake my head each time I’m at the cash register. I mean I’m only there with four items, namely instant coffee and some can food and the amount was already RM50 over. Sigh.. That is why sites like Savings.com are to me, Godsend. They have coupons on almost everything, from human to pet food, from health to beauty products, the site has it all. If this site was available for us to use here in Malaysia, this site would be my homepage.

Anyhow, I am now saving up for a brand new phone and potentially a new laptop. Anyone know where I can get coupons that is valid in Malaysia for those?

Ok Ok.. am nodding off here at my desktop and so I bid you goodnight for now. I have taken my hormones pill (not best prenatal vitamins, mind you), my health supplement pills,  and will right this instant go back to bed. I have a late night Skype call with my client in the States and need to stay awake for that.

Have a fantastic day all!
