Women and jewelry always go hand in hand. I don’t know about you but I always love a little bling bling on my neck, fingers, ears and wrist. Sometimes a plain outfit can shine with with the right jewelry or accessories making you a hit at any event.

diamond ringWhile a lot of ladies opt for new pieces of jewelry with the latest design to add to their collection, sometimes vintage jewelry can really make a statement too. Some of the vintage jewelry online that I found screams history and so gorgeous that I will definitely consider if I had the money.

Take this piece for instance, the “Embraceable You Diamond Engagement Ring”. This ring mount dated back to 1935 and has been lovingly preserved for its next owner. The description for this piece is “It is set with an H color brilliant cut diamond, with VS2 clarity, the gem is an .80 carats in weight. Its platinum mount of filigree is hand engraved in script to the interior, “W.I or J.H. to A.L. 1935.” On each side of the central diamond are 3 single cut diamonds set into arches, for a total other diamond weight of .06 carats.” I think any woman would squeal in delight to accept this an an engagement ring or even a Valentine’s Day Gift.. (ahem ahem)

What qualifies as vintage jewelry, you may ask? Well according to the Wiki “Jewelry which is termed ‘vintage’ includes many decades or eras. Each era has many different designs. These eras include Georgian, Early Victorian, Mid-Victorian, Late Victorian, Arts and Crafts era, Art Nouveau, Edwardian, Art Deco and Retro. People confuse Retro with estate jewelry. The word “estate” in “estate jewelry” does not refer to jewelry coming from the estate of the deceased. Estate simply means previously owned”

So, if you looking to get more jewelry, Vintage ones might be a nice change to your collection.  Have fun!

connection speedI just realized something while surfing on my laptop today (No, not the samsung netbooks but my very reliable and old notebook). Anyway I realized that if I were to use my usb modem (the dongle version) and connect to the net, I get a 3.6mpbs speed but if I were to connect to the internet via wifi hotspot using using my Samsung Galaxy Note, I get 54.0mpbs speed. Isn’t that crazy? I thought all this time it was 54.0kbps and I was switching to the dongle each time I come home to work on my laptop when it was actually easier to connect via wifi hotspot and get a much faster speed. Duh me!
